AR Liver app is compatible with the New iPad and the iPad 2. Due to extremely high resolution models and textures, this app is not compatible with the first generation iPads. 

OVERVIEW
AR Liver is a real-time 3D medical education and patient communication tool, featuring incredibly detailed anatomical models. It is a member of a series of apps developed specifically for the iPad 2 and the New iPad by a team of anatomists, certified medical illustrators, animators, and programmers using actual human CT imaging data, and the most accurate 3D modeling technology available.

AR Liver is appropriate for use by secondary students, undergraduate and graduate students, and medical professionals.

Full functionality of the app requires the downloading of a graphic known as a glyph that will be used during the Augmented Reality (AR) viewing experience.

FEATURES
User Interaction:
There are two ways to interact with AR Liver. 
First, AR Liver utilizes true real-time 3D. Unlike other anatomical apps and programs, there are no pre-rendered frames or animations. Therefore, the user can place the incredibly detailed organ in any position and zoom in to any location to explore all of the anatomical structures. The user can learn by using the extensively labeled sections, study by creating custom labeled pins, or teach by drawing directly on the liver in 3D. 

Second, AR Liver offers an Augmented Reality (AR) viewing mode. This mode bridges the gap between the purely computer based interactive experience and the real world. With the use of the iPad's camera and a printed graphic, known as a glyph, the user can view a virtual liver in any location as if it were sitting in front of them. By rotating the glyph or the iPad, the user can explore the external features of the organ.

Views:
By selecting the different views at the bottom of the interface the user can explore the liver using a series of optional views. Color-coded, didactic models help to show the specific locations and margins of the liver segments, while a semi-transparent view allows for the exploration of internal structures and features, including the major vessels and biliary tree. Finally, real-time 3Dmodels of three common pathologies can be viewed to illustrate the anatomical changes that occur to the organ.

Pins:
By turning on the colored labeling pins, the user can study the names and locations of the anatomical structures, including: the segments, ligaments of the liver and various landmarks of other visceral organ impressions. The pins and labels remain on screen and in the exact anatomical location during all real time 3D user interaction.

Pen tool: 
Drawing with the multi-colored pen tool allows the user to draw on the surface of the 3D liver in order to highlight features, locations, and anatomical structures. Perfect for lectures, labs, or study groups.

Pathologies:
AR Liver contains fully interactive real-time 3D models of three common hepatic pathologies: Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC), Cirrhosis, and Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH). Each of these detailed models includes a short description of the pathology shown.

The Living Lung? is a real-time 3D medical education and patient communication tool, featuring incredibly detailed anatomical respiratory models. It is a member of a series of apps developed specifically for the iPad by a team of anatomists, certified medical illustrators, animators, and programmers using actual human CT imaging data, and the most accurate 3D modeling technology available.

The Living Lung? is appropriate for use by secondary students, undergraduate and graduate students, and medical professionals.

Interaction with the Living Lung? utilizes true real-time 3D. Unlike some other anatomical apps and programs, there are no pre-rendered frames or animations. Therefore, the user can place the incredibly detailed lungs, rib cage, and associated structures in any position and zoom in to any location to explore the anatomical features. Animated transparent structures aid in the exploration of the bronchi and related key vascular components. Bronchopulmonary segments can be highlighted and labeled on the lungs and the bronchopulmonary tree. 

FEATURES
Views:
By selecting the views menu, the user can explore the anatomy of the lungs and associated structures by using a series of optional views. Color-coded, didactic models help to show the specific locations of lung segments, the internal bronchial tree, and circulatory structures.


Lung Volume:
By increasing or decreasing the breaths per minute, the user can observe the change in the lung volume. The results of the user interaction are shown in an accurate increase of decrease in the motion of the ribcage, inflation and deflation of the lungs and the associated internal structures. A lung volume meter shows the increased or decreased lung volume associated with the breaths per minute change.

Labels:
By selecting the color-coded segments of the bronchopulmonary tree, the user can study the names of the lung segments. The labels remain on screen and in the exact anatomical location during all real time 3D user interaction.

The BoneBox? Spine Viewer is a real-time 3D medical education and patient communication tool, featuring a detailed anatomical spine model. Features

‧Interaction with the BoneBox? Spine Viewer utilizes true real-time 3D, which allows the user to place the detailed spine model in any position and zoom in to explore all of the anatomical structures. 

‧The user can view the labels of the full spinal column as well as the extensively labeled individual vertebra for a more detailed observation. Further study is accomplished by creating custom labeled pins, or by drawing directly on the spine, all in real-time 3D.

‧The user can explore the spine using a series of optional views. Color-coded, didactic models help to show the specific curvatures and regions of the spine, while selecting an individual vertebra will allow the user to explore the features of the single bone.

‧The interface color can be adjusted to a light or dark variation for better viewing and projection in multiple lighting conditions.

‧By turning on the color coded pins, the user can study the names and locations of over 100 anatomical structures, including: bones, foramina, and prominent anatomical features. The pins and labels remain on screen and in the exact anatomical location during all real time 3D user interaction.

‧Drawing with the multi-colored pen tool allows the user to draw directly on the surface of the 3D spine for use in the clinic, or classroom.

‧The BoneBox? Spine Viewer is an excellent tool for any anatomy lecture or lab. Using the custom pin tool, instructors can place color-coded pins anywhere on the spine. Once placed, the instructor can write a question on the label of that pin. Students can then rotate the spine in 3D to gain a better understanding of that pin's location on the model.

‧The BoneBox? - Spine Viewer is a must for any anatomy lecture or lab. By selecting to take the quiz, the user will experience an exciting, fully interactive feature that will test their knowledge of the bones of the vertebral column. As the bones randomly disperse around the screen, the user may select any bone and is prompted to correctly name that bone.




Views:
As the program opens, the user can explore the bones of the human hand in real-time 3D at the gross anatomical level. By selecting an individual bone, the user will see only that bone on screen where the detailed features and specific labels will be presented.

Pins:
By turning on the pre-positioned color coded pins, the user can study the names and locations of over 150 anatomical structures, including: bone names, articular surfaces, and prominent anatomical markers. The pins and labels remain on screen and in the exact anatomical location during all real time 3D user interaction.

Using the custom pin tool, instructors can place color-coded pins at a location of their choosing. Once placed, the instructor simply writes a question concerning that specific bone or location.

Pen tool:
